Nee’s books have provided many charismatics with a theological basis to call in question or reject many of the ecstatic outbursts that seemed to hinder the church’s primary responsibility to preach Christ. Reading his books on theological anthropology, many Pentecostals and charismatic church leaders became convinced that not all tongue speaking nor all prophecy have their origin in the Holy Spirit.
